Group Head of Engineering

Job description

A global, market leading organisation is seeking a Head of Engineering to join their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Cheshire.

The primary responsibility of the Head of Engineering is to create and introduce engineering systems, and implementing best practice to new and existing manufacturing systems.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Creating and implementing best practice engineering outputs, processes, and capability to improve business performance
• Review manufacturing capability taking action to ensure a safe working environment
• Lead and develop a team of Project and Maintenance Engineers
• Ensure that engineering plans are in place to meet site objectives in terms of price, quality and delivery targets
• Ensure that engineering processes support the manufacturing plant
• Form part of the senior management team and provide accurate reports on engineering performance

In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have proven experience creating and implementing engineering systems. In addition to this candidates need to have a strong background in leading and developing medium sized engineering teams as well as a sound mechanical and electrical knowledge base. Candidates need to have gained this experience in a high volume manufacturing environment such as Steel, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Chemical Engineering etc.
