Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job description

A market leading organisation is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis on double days to work at their site in Cheshire.

The Multi Skilled Engineer will be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of plant equipment, recording plant and equipment operating conditions and requirements whilst maintaining operational reliability.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring equipment downtime is kept to a minimum and in line with the requirements of the production process and plan
• Creating PPM schedules, maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing data entry records within appropriate time scales
• Complete mechanical and electrical maintenance work as required
• Responding to requests from production for engineering assistance and monitoring visual management boards to ensure flagged items are dealt with
• Working with the production teams to improve their knowledge of the equipment and ability to quickly identify problems and resolve where appropriate, or refer
• Play an active part in health and safety, identifying hazards and risks and ensuring all health and safety procedures and safe working practices are followed at all times

In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have proven maintenance engineering experience within a high volume manufacturing environment such as Food, Steel, Paper, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals etc. You will also hold a formal qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or closely related subject.
